Zack captained a dramatic win by Lymington, with all players contributing to another proud team effort. We were put into bat first with Oscar and Connor giving a solid performance followed by Bella & Charlotte putting on 13 without loss. Zack and Archie took some bruising bowling and bravely pushed our total forward. Otto and Bruno added firepower in the middle with some nibble running between the wickets to add 18 runs. Last to bat were Hooper making his debut and Charlotte making up the spare pair. Hopper concentrated hard and batted without loss and Charlotte smashed four superb 4’s to give us and excellent total to defend.

Brockenhurst were undefeated this year and we needed to bowl well and we did, taking crucial wickets to keep Brockenhurst under pressure. Zack took our first wicket and made life difficult. Connor was full of pace and took two wickets in his opening over and bowled a great line and length. Bruno and Oscar added a wicket each keeping the score down. Archie worked hard behind the stumps and made more good progress with his bowling. Drummond our U9 debut made up the numbers and was the surprise of the day with a superb maiden over. Lastly, Bella and Charlotte faced down the best batting pair from Brockenhurst. After a difficult first over for Bella being hit for 11 she gritted her teeth and smashed the stumps of their star batter. Charlotte took up the attack and bowled a wonderful yorker with her first ball to gain a valuable wicket as Brockenhurst came within a whisker of stealing the game from us with 5 to win off the final ball.
