An amazing game played between two excellent sides, ended in a Lymington edging a narrow win at the sports ground. Lymington bowled first, and despite some strong batting from Harrison and Seb, the home side managed to restrict the opposition to 269 off their 16 overs. Some great catching from Charlotte and Max helped curb the intentions of a powerful batting line up.
In reply, Lymington got off to a sound start. Charlotte and Connor putting on 15 for the first pair. Bruno and Ossian deserve great credit for not losing a single wicket in the next four, in the face of some excellent bowling. Zach W and Dash then kept the score ticking over nicely with the score on 243 after 12. Zach P and Max (on debut) then came to the crease. New Milton brought out their big guns, but the Lymington pair deflected valiantly. They were in no mood to give an inch.
At the start of the last over, 10 were needed for a hard fought victory. Max and Zach were bang up for it. The last Lymington pair surpassing the visitor's score with two balls to go. However, that left two nerve jangling deliveries to block out. Zach played with superb calmness to see us home, and record a memorable win. Both sides deserve huge credit for a game played with great skill, in fantastic spirit. Cricket was the winner (and Lymington)
