After a close defeat to Bishops Waltham last season, Lymington travelled with the main aim of avenging that with their own triumph in 2024.
After losing the toss, Lymington took to the field to keep to keep the hosts down to a low score. There were debuts for batter Harry Anstee and IOW bowler, Bertie Adkins.
Bishops Waltham ended their innings all out for 158, on a good pitch but big and slow outfield, which kept boundaries to a minimum. After good opening spells from Conor Jackson (1-26) and John Carrington (2-43), that man Alvin Cameron blitzed the middle order with 3-32. The tail was wrapped up with Ryan Attree, Ronak Patel and Xavier Deacon all taking a wicket apiece. Special mention for two great catches by Conor Jackson and Bertie Adkins.
Lymington chased the total inside 39 overs, for the loss of just one wicket (Ronak Patel 29), with Torquil Deacon carrying his bat for an impressive 68*. Debutant Anstee finishing with three successive boundaries to end on 52 not out.
