Sway/Lymo u17 (119-1) beat Totton & Eling (117-6) by 9 wkts At Totton in their Kerry Cup 2nd round tie Sway/Lymo won the toss & asked T&E to bat first.

They knew they would need to bowl, field & catch well against a talented T&E team & they certainly did that. In just the 2nd over Ollie Smith clung onto a huge legside hit by Cheater on the boundary.

However even his excellent effort was later bested by Ollie Sharp who ran & dived full-length to catch the dangerous Taylor just inches above the ground, & then Josh Royan who leapt like a salmon to pluck a speeding bullet of a shot from Bedford one-handed.

The ground fielding was equally impressive with Dan Bailey showing great agility for his size in the covers stopping a crisp drive from Singh & spinning to run him out with a good throw. All the superb Sway/Lymo fielding supported some excellent tight bowling with pacy Axel Deem 3-0-16-2 & young spin prospect Noah Glass 3-0-8-2 the top wicket-takers.

The T&E innings was anchored by Francis Moore (43) & Leo Taylor (22) both scoring at a run per ball, however some tight death overs from Glass, D.Bailey & Royan restricted T&E to a below par 117-6 from their 20 overs.

The Sway/Lymo innings was well-paced against some good bowling as Josh Royan (42 n.o. off 40 balls) & Dan Bailey (45 off 31) put on 80 for the 1st wicket until Bailey perished to a fine catch on the boundary by Taylor as he attempted to reach his half-century with a maximum. That brought Sway/Lymo skipper Josh Bailey (16 off 9) to the crease & after a sensible start he finished proceedings off with a 6 & a 4 off consecutive balls in the 14th over to record a convincing win by 9 wickets for Sway/Lymo, who now face Hook & Newnham CC in the quarter final on Friday 14th.
