Southern Premier T20 Cup
Burridge I 148-7
Lymington I 102-9
Burridge were too strong for Lymington’s youngsters who struggled against the home side bowlers and lost by 46 runs in the second round of the T20 cup on a cloudy afternoon at Burridge.
Lymington’s captain Josh Royan won the toss and elected to field first. Burridge got off to a good start as Joe Collings-Wells (39) and Suji Wickramasinghe (30) put on 60 for the first wicket. It was then Daniel Stancliffe (61) with an attacking knock that did the main damage even though he was steadily losing partners. Spinners Dan Bailey (2-27) and Jude Tollerfield (3-24), taking three wickets on two consecutive days, were the other main wicket takers for Lymington while Josh Royan took three catches.
In reply Lymington were never in the hunt not helped by a slow start with wickets falling steadily as Lymington tried to force the pace against a good bowling attack led by Hilio de Arbeu with 4-15 in his four overs and Mo Abbas 4-24. It included a remarkable catch in the deep with one fielder unable to take a difficult chance but the ball then ballooned up to a second fielder. South African Gareth Schreuder (27) top scored for Lymington followed by Terry Crabb (16) and Josh Bailey (15).
